Waste Management

Silverdell are committed to developing innovative waste stream management solutions for projects where the most environmentally friendly approach to the removal of used construction materials is best suited to other applications rather than through conventional tips. We are fully aware of the important work being undertaken by the Waste and Resource Action Programme (WRAP) in the influencing of Construction and Demolition tender and contract clauses to increase the use of recycled and secondary aggregates in construction. We are fully committed to carrying out our works with a genuine concern for the environment, and it will be our intention to recycle as many appropriate materials as appropriate.,

Examples of salvageable materials may include roof tiles, steel sections, structural timber, timber floors and joists; miscellaneous internal joinery; masonry, concrete cladding panels, profiled metal cladding sheets; complete steel frame buildings and concrete. Concrete arisings for example may be crushed and used for the next stages of construction. Waste construction materials will be identified and quantified with full documentation available.

Remediation

Silverdell co-ordinate, manage and deliver demolition, remediation and dismantling solutions as a specialist or principal contractor. Our knowledge of working safely in difficult environments is delivered through a team who work collaboratively to meet scheduled targets and to meet agreed budgets.

Our capabilities and experience on large and small scale works cover city, regeneration, domestic and industrial projects for all enabling work disciplines.

Our safety record is second to none adopting quality assured procedures to include ISO9001:2000, 14001 and OHSAS 18001:2007. We work to remove contaminated materials and then recycle any others where possible to ensure maximum waste recovery outputs are achieved. All appropriate certification is provided on completion of the works to enable clients to be confident in having managed the legacies of a brownfield site successfully, with a clean foundation for future works.
